SPINES, THORNS, PRICKLES
2022SPINES, THORNS, AND PRICKLES are the plant’s first structural barrier. Sharp, pointy structures are used, along with color, as a defense mechanism against natural enemies: herbivores, pests, fungal and bacterial infections, to name a few. This edition of three vases results from a material exploration using glass to represent the duality between the fragility and brutality of some natural cycles.
