THE BANANA PROJECT

2021

A research project exploring biomaterials derived from waste streams, focusing on banana peels as a renewable material. Inspired by the peel’s natural protective function, structural strength, and rich biochemical composition, the project investigates how agricultural waste can be transformed into new material possibilities.

Through a material-driven design approach, the project explores different production methods, the resulting material qualities, potential applications, and the ways people perceive and relate to materials made from organic waste.
