SYMBIOTIC LIGHT THERAPY

2019

This project serves as part II of an investigation into alternative solutions to living with the lack of sunlight and its impact on our health. It proposes a scenario of care that embraces the needs of both plants and humans. Based on research, exposure to certain wavelengths of light, including white, blue and red can help improve our health and maintain a biochemical equilibrium. The different types of light therapy can aid humans with depression, insomnia, skin issues, and boosting their energy. And at the same time, it plays a critical role in the flowering, blooming, and coloration processes of plants, as well as in their growth and active production of bioactive compounds. In addition, some plants provide humans with “therapeutic qualities”, as they can purify the air, filter toxins, improve oxygen levels, induce sleep and relaxation by scent, and control levels of stress.

This project aims to gather conventional and non-conventional alternatives of treatment, that aim to contribute
to a holistic approach to a human-plant therapeutic ritual. The activation of the ritual is made by introducing water,
both to create the condition for plant life and as an electrical conductor for the light system.
