GOBLET
2023GOBLET is an experimental project that grows sculptures from fungi — mycelium, the root-like structure of a funguscomposed of microscopic white threads. It features a collection of living objects that challenge traditional material aesthetics and our perceptions of living materials.
Fungi are the great decomposers, feeding on death and converting it into new life. These objects act as vessels
of ceremony, celebrating biological processes such as decay and growth. Each piece takes up to a month and a half to grow. The project honors the wildness of biological growth, where design becomes an act of care. Control over the process is surrendered to the fungi’s rebellious nature — every sculpture is unique, shaped by the organism itself.

This project was developed for FINE DYING MISSCHIEFS , an exhibition and ceremonial collection ofhandmade objects inspired by the symbolic murder of Virginia Woolf's phantom in 'Professions for Women'.
In this text, the author metaphorically kills her phantom to liberate herself and create freely as a woman.
by Vicent Ars
The living objects highlight natural systems of regeneration and engage with the idea of Virginia Woolf´s phantom by linking to eco-feminism as a way to critically examine the connection between the degradation of nature and the oppression of women. *The term was coined by the French writer Françoise d'Eaubonne in her book ‘Le Féminisme ou la Mort’ - ‘Feminism or death’ (1973).
